Everything went back together fine and it’s running okay. I’ll have to see if the issue returns.

Putting a drain plug in the pan while its off is highly worthwhile.  Every one of my trucks had a drain plug in the pan by time I sold them.  Keeping a bolt in each corner and then removing two on one side to let the pan hang at an angle can help mitigate/control the ATF everywhere moment.

is the mass air flow sensor clean?

how about plugs, air filter?

MAF is a possible source, I’m gonna double check it tomorrow.
